GUITAR FEST 2011
WHAT?
Guitar Fest is a competition open to all guitarists.
WHERE?
Townwide, Capreol, Ontario
WHEN?
Saturday July 30, 2011 – a component of Capreol Days Festival
WHY?
No reason needed. We just want to celebrate with all who enjoy playing, listening,
and just being a part of this whole lifestyle.
HOW:
• ALL GUITARISTS ARE WELCOME AND MUST SIGN UP ON THE GUITAR FEST
SECTION OF THE CAPREOL DAYS WEBSITE WWW.CAPREOL.INFO
• COMPETITION WILL BE HANDLED IN TWO MAIN SECTIONS AND AT TWO
DIFFERENT VENUES.
o Venue One is found in the downtown area of Capreol where all competitors
will be given locations to set up and play busker style. The purpose of this portion
of the competition is to have the competitors entice the audience to purchase
tokens and to vote for them in the popular vote portion of the competition. All
proceeds from the tokens will be split with the competitors to help defray their
expenses. The second purpose will be to attract the general public to attend the
juried portion of the competition to the Capreol Arena from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
o Venue Two competitors will be given time to show their skills in their
preferred genre and also demonstrate their ability to play in a variety of other
settings.
Note: We have already been approached by over twenty guitarists from around the
province who intend to come to Capreol to compete in this competition.
Prizes will be in the form of monetary rewards plus various gifts donated by various
music venues.
Bragging rights will be backed up by the unique trophy that will be awarded to the
overall winner.
We hope to feature over 50 guitarists for the our first Guitar Fest. Please join us!
